Terms of Service
Last updated October 15, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Palm Radar ("Palm Radar," "we," "us") covering your use of the Palm Radar mobile app, the website at palmr.fm, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Palm Radar
Palm Radar is invite-only. You need an invite code from us to create an account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian is aware you are using it.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at support@palmr.fm if you think someone else has access to it. Do not share your account or sell or transfer invite codes.
2. What Palm Radar is
Palm Radar is a personal archive and community for live music. Members log shows they have been to, rate and review performances and venues, follow artists, venues and collectives, and discover what is happening near them.
Palm Radar is not a ticket seller and does not run events. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any venue, artist, promoter or ticketing company unless we say so. Information about shows, venues and artists comes largely from members and from public sources, and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Check details with the venue or promoter before you rely on them, and never rely on the Service for anything involving safety, travel, money or health.
If a show has a link to buy tickets, that link takes you outside the app, to palmr.fm, the venue, the promoter or a ticketing company. Palm Radar does not sell tickets or process ticket payments inside the app. Any ticket purchase happens on that outside site, is between you and the seller, and is governed by that seller's own terms, not these Terms.
3. Your content
"Your Content" means anything you submit to the Service, including reviews, ratings, comments, setlists, photos, videos and profile information. You keep ownership of Your Content.
You give Palm Radar a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish and display Your Content, and to make it available to others as described in these Terms, in order to operate, protect and promote the Service. If you delete Your Content or your account, we stop showing it, except that copies may remain in backups for a limited time and content other members have already quoted or shared elsewhere is outside our control.
You decide who sees each review: only you (private), members you follow who follow you back (friends), or all members (public). Private notes are never shown to anyone else.
Featuring photos and videos. When you log a public show you can choose up to five of your photos or videos to feature. Featured items may appear on the pages of the artists, venues or collectives at that show and in discovery feeds, credited to you. Photos you do not feature stay on your own review. You can un-feature an item, or turn featuring off in Settings, at any time, and doing so removes it from those pages.
You confirm that you own Your Content or have permission to share it, that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law, and that any person who is recognizable in a photo or video is not shown in an embarrassing, degrading or private moment. Do not upload content you did not create or do not have permission to share.
4. Community guidelines
Palm Radar is for talking honestly about live music. Honest opinions are welcome, including negative ones about a performance, the sound, a venue, the staff, the crowd or the price. Reviews and comments should be about your own experience of the show. You agree not to use the Service to post or do any of the following:
- sexual, lewd or graphic content, or violence or threats
- hate speech, slurs, or attacks on a person or group based on who they are
- harassment, bullying, or insults aimed at a person, including their looks or identity
- accusations of serious crimes or misconduct against a named person or business, stated as fact
- other people's private information, such as phone numbers, home addresses or email addresses
- spam, advertising, links, giveaways or solicitation outside features built for them
- photos or videos that are not from a live music event, that are edited or captioned to mock someone, or that show a performer or anyone else in an embarrassing or degrading moment
- impersonating anyone, fake or paid reviews, or attempts to game ratings, rankings or feeds
- content you do not have the right to share
- live streams that show anything in this list, that you do not have permission to broadcast, or that include music, video or performances you do not own or have the right to share
- scraping or harvesting data about members, using bots, or trying to break, overload or get around the security of the Service
5. Moderation, reporting and blocking
Screening. To protect artists, venues and members, we check content before or shortly after it appears. Featured photos and videos are checked before they go on someone else's page, using automated tools and, where needed, human review. Video is reviewed by a person. Reviews and comments are automatically screened when you post them and again shortly afterwards. New accounts may have content held for manual review. Content that clearly breaks these Terms may be blocked or removed without notice, and removing the text of a review does not remove its ratings.
While Palm Radar is a small community, our team also reviews public posts and every report by hand, on top of the automated screening above. As we grow, we plan to build out that automated screening further so it can keep reviewing content at that scale, with our team focused on reports, appeals and the harder judgment calls.
Reporting and blocking. You can report any comment, post or member from inside the app, and you can block any member. We review reports and remove content and accounts that break these Terms. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive members. To reach us directly, write to support@palmr.fm.
Live streams. Approved collectives may broadcast live from the app. Live video is not reviewed before it is seen, so the person who goes live is responsible for it. Before streaming, get permission from the performers, the venue and anyone else featured, and do not stream music or footage you do not own or have a license for. Streams are not recorded by Palm Radar. Anyone can report a live stream from the viewer screen, and a stream is hidden right away once several members report it for sexual content, violence or a minor. Our team can end any stream at any time and may stop a collective from going live again. A stream marked Sponsored is paid placement. Do not stream a private moment of someone who has not agreed to it.
Enforcement. We may remove or restrict any content, and suspend or end any account, at our discretion, with or without notice, including to protect members or the Service. Repeated violations may lead to removal of your account. If you think we made a mistake, write to support@palmr.fm and we will take another look.
Automated processing. To do this screening we send featured photos, ticket photos, and the text of public reviews and comments to a service provider (Anthropic) that analyzes them. See the Privacy Policy.
6. Claimed pages
Artists, venues and collectives, or their authorized representatives, may claim their page to manage certain information and post their own content, such as shows, dates and prices. If you claim a page you are responsible for the accuracy of what you post for it, you agree that it follows these Terms, and you confirm you are authorized to act for that artist, venue or collective.
Claiming a page does not give anyone ownership of, or the right to remove, other members' honest reviews or ratings. We may approve, deny or revoke a claim, and remove content from a claimed page, at our discretion.
7. How Palm Radar makes money
Membership is free for members. We may charge a venue, artist or collective for two kinds of paid feature: (a) clearly labeled promotion or featured placement in the app (for example, a marked "Sponsored" or "Featured" slot in Discover or a feed), and (b) aggregated, de-identified insights and reports about their own shows and audience, built from many members' activity at once. See the Privacy Policy for what these insights include and how "de-identified" is applied.
Paid promotion is separate from, and never changes, your own personalized recommendations or how the Service ranks any member's results. Paying for promotion or insights never changes anyone's star ratings, and never hides, reorders, removes or edits an honest review, comment or rating.
Palm Radio, the live-events collective behind palmr.fm, may sell merchandise, tickets and a paid membership on the palmr.fm website. Those are separate from Palm Radar, are sold only on the website under Palm Radio's own terms, and are never required to use Palm Radar. Palm Radar is not a party to those purchases. If we ever sell a subscription or other digital feature for use inside the app itself, we will offer it in a way that follows Apple's and Google's rules for purchases made through their app stores.
We do not sell a member's individual reviews, ratings, attendance or account information to a venue, artist, collective or anyone else, and there are no third-party ads in the app.
8. Third-party services and links
The Service uses and links to services we do not control, such as maps, place search, artist and setlist databases, Apple Music, and the websites of venues and ticket sellers. Their content and terms are their own, and we are not responsible for them. Some artist and venue photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses and are credited where they appear.
9. Copyright and takedown notices
We respect intellectual property. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@palmr.fm that includes: your name and contact details; a description of the work you say is infringed; where the content appears (a link or screenshot is fine); a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own or are authorized to act for the owner of the right.
We may remove the content and tell the member who posted it. That member can send us a counter-notice if they believe the removal was a mistake. We may end the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe.
If you appear in a photo or video and want it removed, or you represent an artist and are concerned about how someone appears on your page, write to support@palmr.fm. We take these requests seriously and act on them quickly.
10. Our intellectual property
The Palm Radar and Palm Radio names and logos, and the design and software of the Service, are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use them except to use the Service as intended. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
11. Changes to the Service; availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may change, suspend or end features at any time, and we do not guarantee it will always be available or error free. Do not rely on the Service as your only record of anything.
12. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings (Delete my account). We may suspend or end your access at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (including the license to content already shared, disclaimers, limits of liability and the governing law) will survive.
13. Disclaimers and limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Palm Radar and the people who work on it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
You are responsible for what you post and for how you use information you find on the Service. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms.
14. Apple
If you use the app on an Apple device: these Terms are between you and Palm Radar, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and is not responsible for any claim relating to it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not on a US government list of restricted parties and are not in a country subject to a US embargo.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as a notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts located in Los Angeles County, California will have jurisdiction, except where the law of your home country requires otherwise.
Questions about these Terms: legal@palmr.fm. General questions: contact@palmr.fm.
